Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Book review

“Newt” Scamander, a wizard from the United Kingdom is fascinated by creatures from the wizarding world!

Newt goes on a trip around the world, learning, helping, and teaching other wizards and witches about these creatures, slowly writing a book about them. He writes about creatures such as the Niffler, Ocammy, Puffskein, and Kelpie. Explaining what they look like, their habits and where they’re found.

This book is very good, although the introduction takes up a quarter of the book, which for people who don’t like reading introductions is kind of inconvenient. And, in a way this book is more like an encyclopedia which is in my opinion a bit strange… But I never said that its bad, just uniquely strange!!!

In the end, my personal opinion is that this book is awesome and should be read by every human being from pre-teens to adults, this is generally for people who like to learn about stuff even if what they’re learning isn’t true!

A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning

Book Review: A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning

The first novel in a series of thirteen, The Bad Beginning is full of mystery, problems and despair.  When the parents of Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire perish in a terrible fire one horrible day while the children are at Briny Beach, Violet and her siblings are left with nothing but each other and a banker, who is worse than horrible at keeping them out of danger. When the orphans are sent to live with the dreadful Count Olaf, they find misfortune at every turn, and as the series continues the Baudelaires uncover a mystery that seems unwilling to be solved. With Count Olaf stopping at nothing to acquire their fortune and make them miserable, their lives truly become a series of unfortunate events.
Lemony Snicket's writing is intriguing and readers will find it incomparable to anything that they have ever read before. With the occasional bits of strange humor and clever loopholes that are completely unpredictable anyone reading this book will never want it to end. Unfortunately, as the series continues, some of the earlier books tend to get slightly repetitive and the later books very confusing. Even though Lemony Snicket frequently tells you not to read this book, for lovers of tragic tales and mystery adventures, this book and entire series is a must read.
